AQUA ISLAND HOUSES

The Aqua Island-house is a 4 story, 5000 sq. ft. townhouse in a new development called AQUA on the tip of Allison Island in Miami Beach, Florida. Repeated 4 times on different corners of the site, this island-house takes form of a sculpture carved out of a solid block. With curved metal roofs, inspired by the movement of the boats around the island the house appears fluid and dynamic.

Planned by the urban-design firm of Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, the AQUA development will have a combination of 46 townhouses and 3 mid-rise towers as an alternative to a row of high-rise condos known as "Condo Canyon". It is built in a pedestrian friendly environment, where the waters edge belongs to everyone and neighborhood amenities include fitness center and spa, swimming pools, clubhouse and childrens center.
