This 4000 sq. ft. industrial space was designed as a gallery/exhibition space for hair and hair-design. The space essentially is one large open loft space with a spacious reception/waiting area acting as a gallery space in the center, a large conference/seminar hall, hair salon/skin care on the east and north end with an open office area and a conference room on the south side.

Upon arrival the visitors are welcomed by a row of mannequin head forms with bright colored wigs sitting on top of a display cabinet concealing the reception desk behind the glass entry wall.

Full scale mannequins with different hair designs are placed within all areas of the space including the bathroom, kitchen and the seminar room creating a surreal environment where boundaries of reality are challenged. It is however, the main architectural element of the hair gallery (a 48'x20' art wall) that makes the most impact not only separating the seminar and waiting areas but exhibiting an abstract art by a composition of images of hair. This Graphic wall paper art was created by using computer stamping and digital printing. Visible from the elevator lobby and present in the main space it becomes the logo of the brand “Beauty Essence”.

A continuous PLYNYL carpeting by Chilewich provides a soft and resilient flooring through the main space and changes into rubber Loneseal carpeting in the salon, skin care and the kitchen area.

All duct work and wiring is exposed keeping the ceiling heights up to 11'-4" and celebrating the original industrial feel on the original space.

At the end this new prototype is a creative space for creative/inventive hair designs catering to rock stars like Lady Gaga.
