ISSEY MIYAKE TRIBECA STORE

Our vision for the Issey Miyake Show-room in Tribeca was to create a fluid space, vertically folding and connecting two floors. Here, what is elemental is the use of light as matter, the most minimal medium that has a profound physicality in the perception and experience of space.

Our thoughts for this proposal are organized around a number of concepts: transparency, continuity, and archaeology. The intention with these concepts was to investigate the relationship between the two disciplines via body and space and to blur the boundary between the two. Through this blurring, the experience and interaction of different but interrelated elements from fabric to space becomes evident.
